An 11 slide PPT looking mainly at Donald Trump, who he is and what he has promised to do. There is also a slide on Hillary Clinton and a message that this is democracy in action. This is a slightly modified version of my last Donald Trump PPT so please don't buy again if you bought the original. The PPT has been redesigned to reflect the inauguration of the new president. Could be used in assembly or tutor time and links into current affairs and citizenship. Suitable for upper KS2 and secondary. (For some reason, viewers are not able to preview this PPT and I have notified TES. An 19 slide PPT which has been written as a revision guide for the structure question (q3) in Paper 1 of AQA's GCSE English Language spec. There is a focus on what examiners are looking for as well as handy hints throughout. I look at what is meant by structure and look at what examiners are looking for when marking this question. A simplified marks scheme is given so that pupils can track progression. An example of a level 1 paragraph is also given with a tasks to decide why it is a level 1 and for it to be rewritten and improved. The PPT uses the 2017 'Rosabel' paper as a basis. The revision guide contains activities which can be done at home or in the classroom. The PPT has been designed for either teachers to share in the classroom as part of pupils' revision and/or as a document for pupils to take home. Also available from my shop is a similar guide for question 2 of the same paper.

A 9 slide PPT ideal for Year 6 SATs prep but also good for teachers of KS2/3/4 needing to teach / revise where capital letters go. The PPT looks at where capital letters need to go and includes several independent tasks which results in pupils having to really think for themselves. Also includes a SATs style question which can easily be removed if not relevant to your class. The last task is the creation of a poster to demonstrate pupils' knowledge of where capital letters need to go. A comprehensive, 30 slide, active and passive PPT. It starts off looking at what a sentence is and touches on subjects and verbs. I then go on to explain how to identify an active sentence and then a passive sentence. I also look at how to convert from active to passive and vice-versa. There are activities for pupils to complete and several SATs style questions as well as teacher notes. The PPT has been designed for Year 6 SATs but could be used with older pupils and could be used to introduce active and passive or as a revision tool. Each activity has been designed to complete at home, thus giving you 4 weeks worth of homework and one more if you add a week for rehearsal or making a PPT to go with their speech. The first homework looks at Martin Luther King's 'I have a dream' speech and asks pupils to identify persuasive features. Self-assessment is also included.

UPDATED 18TH MAY WITH DETAILS OF THE TORY MANIFESTO. A 22 slide PPT containing current information on the forthcoming June 8th election. The assembly looks at why an election has been called, what an election is, the different political parties involved, the views of political parties on Brexit, promises already made (pre-manifestos), current opinion polls and interesting election stats from 2015. Concept of democracy is mentioned. Assembly is student friendly and could be used for juniors and seniors. PPT could also be used as a general classroom resourse perhaps during tutorial time or just as a 'current affairs' resource. The resource is updated to reflect major changes so what you download should be current.

Assessment preparation and feedback lesson for ‘The Soldier’ - HOW DOES BROOKES PRESENT WAR? This resource contains material for at least three lessons. It was designed for the fourth out of five sets (predicted grades mainly 3s) and was written for an assessment. The first lesson sees pupils completing a revision sheet using previous teaching/knowledge and shows how to attempt a poetry assessment. The second lesson is the assessment itself after an 10 minute starter which focuses on ways in which war is presented. The third lesson is for after the marking and is a ppt designed to help pupils improve and re-draft.
