This unit of work spans over six lessons and is aimed at a high ability KS3 class. The SOW explores five females artists and uses their work to inspire Drama performances. Each week a different artists work is explored using a different drama skill/technique each lesson. This unit of work could easily be combined with art to provide a comprehensive overview of each artist. This SOW is easily adaptable for all classes/ ages/ abilities. Some wider issues are explored in this topic and ties in with British values & inclusive practices. The overall aims are: To use art to inspire Drama performances, To learn new Drama techniques and use these in devised performances, To complete a practical assessment. This unit of work encompasses the whole syllabus from the LAMDA communication Verse & Prose exams. The unit of work includes nearly 200 slides assisting with the LAMDA exams. For each stage the exam is outlined, there are at least five lesson plans, a mock exam and feedback. Some but not all resources are included. This unit of work could also be used to plan a years work for a school or assist with other drama exams which require learning poetry or prose. The SOW also links to English & Media lessons. Some but not all resources are provided, all other resources can be located on the LAMDA website. This unit of work is inspired by singer/songwriter Ariana Grande. Ariana Grande is an inspiration to young people and is a great role model for teenagers. This unit of work uses her and her songs as inspiration to create theatre performances. The unit of work also looks at the One Love concert and the tragedies behind the Manchester bombings at her concert. The SOW is five lessons long and includes all resources necessary to teach. The PowerPoint is ready to be used in lessons and access to speakers will be required to teach this unit. The overall aims of this scheme of work is to encourage students to be more creative in their devised performances. This unit work is a continuation of my first resource and builds on prior knowledge. It is aimed at KS3 and would be perfect for a Year 8 or Year 9 class. It could also be adapted for a younger class or GCSE. The aims of the SOW include: learn what a stimulus is: You will recap what a stimulus is You will explore and respond to a range of stimuli You will use your own stimuli to devise original performances You will link dance and drama together in response to a stimulus You will complete a practical assessment You will complete a written assessment The PowerPoint is ready to be used in lessons and all resources are included in the slides. This SOW explores some of Roald Dahl's poetry, stories and includes ideas from the new Disney BGF film (2016). The SOW runs over six weeks but could easily be adapted to be longer or shorter. The unit includes an overview of the work, detailed lesson plans, a ready to use PowerPoint for lessons and all resources. This is a unit of work that looks at three contemporary theatre companies, it includes all the resources necessary and an assessment. The six week SOW is adapted from workshops designed by the Curious Theatre Company. Sometimes students can get stressed about group work, remembering lines or performing. This chill out pass enables them to have time to calm down before the situation escalates. The pass can be easily printed and laminated. It is relatively self explanatory but when introducing the pass be clear about the rules so that it is not misused.

This unit of work was influenced and adapted from Woman In Black Education Pack - written by Mark Palmer (Director of Learning for Creative and Media, Wildern School, Southampton) It explores different dramatic techniques whilst focusing on the story of Woman In Black. The SOW explores a variety of differing drama skills including set design/ editing and creative writing. The SOW includes a practical assessment, opportunities for written work and research projects to be completed at home. This SOW is ideal for a high ability KS3 class or even KS4.
