I've created this colourful display for use in my classroom. The focus is on subject terminology in English. I will be creating another display to match this with more subject terminology so please look out for part 2.

A colourful and tasteful display of key quotes for the theme of power in Macbeth.

Each word on every slide has a different coloured/patterned background. There are 100 words in total and they do make an excellent display in the classroom.

A mini scheme on letter writing - this was created and aimed at year 9.

This presentation is a short presentation that I create to deliver on whole staff inset. it takes you through the definitions of literacy and why it is important to all subjects. It also reassures staff that they will already have an element of literacy in their lessons as well as offering practical strategies for all subjects to incorporate.

5 quotes per poem. Students loved this sorting activity for matching key quotes to each title.

4 different coloured poker chips e.g. red, blue, orange and green You hand out the blank chips to students and you keep the chips with the varied questioning starts on them The question starts have been taken from a question matrix It is up to you, you can use them as a differentiation tool, but the idea is that you take a red one for example, from your own pile and then look for an answer from a student who has a blank red poker chip. And so on. It's as simple as that!

Prepare students for their non-fiction writing on the English Language exam 1 big PowerPoint that includes 4 full lessons Resources to support too

A4 Jigsaw pieces that each have a connective written on them. There are 29 pieces, in full colour, each with a connecting conjunction.

A colour coded resource with a checklist on to help students with approaching poetry. There is also a colour coded essay framework, which helps students to construct a response to 2 poems read, at the same time as comparing them. This resource has worked great with my middle ability and lower ability classes. An excellent revision resource too.
