About Laurus Cheadle Hulme

Laurus Cheadle Hulme (LCH) is a non-selective, non-denominational Free School.  It will open in September 2018, initially providing 210 Year 7 places.

A further seven Year 7 forms will be added each academic year, until we become a thriving 1,050-pupil secondary school from Year 7 through to Year 11 by September 2022.  Our students will be housed in a purpose-built building with access to state of the art facilities and overlooking Bruntwood Park, with our Year 11 students progressing to the Sixth Form based at Cheadle Hulme High School.  We will share the same site as Cheadle Hulme Primary School.

The school will be run by the Laurus Trust and replicate the outstanding education offered by the trust’s founder school, Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS).  CHHS, based in Stockport, is a hugely oversubscribed school and was recently named in the Sunday Times ‘Parent Power’ top 25 comprehensive schools in the country.

Cheadle Hulme is a pleasant residential suburb of mainly private housing on the south western edge of the Borough of Stockport and about eleven miles south of the centre of Manchester.  The location enjoys the advantages of proximity to the open countryside of Cheshire and the Peak District and the cultural and sporting activities of a major city.

If you want to work in a highly ambitious and successful school and believe you have the vision and commitment to join our team, then we would like to hear from you.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.
