Equivalent Fractions, Decimals & Percentages | Lesson Notes, Slides & Activities
This lesson explores the equivalence of key benchmark fractions, decimals and percentages (FDP) using 100 grids and their purpose in everyday life - perfect for developing an understanding of FDP through clear explanations, thought-provoking challenges and real-life scenarios.
Students will relate key benchmark fractions, decimals and percentages (1/2, 1/4, 1/5 and 1/10) to the sustainable development goal of responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), and convert between the three forms when engaging with statistical data. They will also identify which is the most suitable form to use (e.g. decimals for precision, fractions for fairness).
