Number Patterns & Rules | Lesson Notes, Slides & Activities | Year 6

This purposeful unit for Number Patterns includes five lessons:

Lesson 1 - focuses on exploring number patterns & sequences.

Lesson 2 - focuses on exploring common factors, multiples and prime numbers.

Lesson 3 - focuses on exploring square numbers and cube numbers.

Lesson 4 - focuses on exploring divisibility rules.

Lesson 5 - focuses on applying number patterns and rules, such as divisibility rules, multiplication patterns & number sequences.

Knowledge: Common factors, common multiples, rules of divisibility, primes to 100, square and cube numbers, and reason from known facts.

Skills: Identify and extend number patterns and sequences, apply divisibility rules to reason about number properties, recognise and use prime, square, and cube numbers, and explain and generalise number relationships using reasoning.
