100th Day Activities for the English or Foreign Language Classroom - These materials can be used to celebrate 100 days or be used anytime to practice numbers, colors, prepositions, food, class objects, body parts, animals, weather, clothing and more. Some of the many uses for this set:
1. 100 Images Grid
a. Students write the word for as many images as they can. Use as an individual in class activity, a group activity (both could be contests) or a homework assignment.
b. Students write the words for each image but group them by categories that you designate such as food, hobbies, clothing, weather, body parts, animals, school supplies, etc.
c. Students cut out pictures and glue them by category and then write the word under each picture.
d. Partner work – Student A calls random words in the target language and Student B must say or write the target language number that corresponds to the image.
e. Practice prepositions and listening skills by describing an item location based on the description of other items that are near it (For example - for #49 clouds – “It’s between the lemon and the teeth”, or “it’s below the bracelets and to the right of the lemon”)
2. 100 English word list that corresponds to the 100 images grid
a. Students write the target language next to each English word on the list.
b. Partners quiz each other on vocabulary
c. Students categorize the vocabulary words on the list
d. Partners – one says a word and its number and the other sketches in that location on the small digit grid
e. Students fold over the either the English or the Spanish and write out the other as a self quiz
f. Students write a word that starts with the last letter of each word listed
g. Students act out the words on the list
3. 100 Small Digit Grid
a. Dictate a letter, number or word that students must write in the numbered box specified
b. Partner A names an object from the 100 Images Grid that Partner B must sketch in the corresponding numbered box
