High Achieving schools excel at a lot of things and given the greater volume, variety and claimed importance of data in education this study shows that senior managers at high achieving schools dismissed the prior existing frameworks presented to them. Therefore, drawing from the literature and grounded in reality, tried and tested on senior school managers, a new data and data use framework was developed and is reported in this study. This study shows that the new framework was not only accepted by all senior managers interviewed at the high achieving schools but that it has since been adopted by senior school managers who are not currently at what may be coined high achieving schools but that these senior managers want to go on the journey to help make their schools high achieving. The study and the new data and data use framework is grounded in reality and shows what works.
