A or An sorting game for ESL/EFL young learners: sort 56 apples onto the A and AN trees across 3 levels, from letters to tricky words like “an hour” and “a unicorn”.
Articles are one of the first grammar points ESL/EFL learners meet, and one of the most common mistakes. In this hands-on game, students pick an apple, say it out loud (“an egg”, “a cat”) and stick it on the right tree. They practise the rule with their eyes, ears and hands, and then learn to listen for the SOUND, not just the letter.
