Adverbs Introduction Lesson

This resource is a complete lesson, with a PowerPoint presentation and Word document included.

Included in the PowerPoint presentation:

• A starter activity
• Various slides with perfect explanation to what adverbs are, with included examples to gain better understanding
• 4 tasks to ensure understanding
  1. Identify the adverb in each sentence (8 sentences with an adverb to identify)
  2. Adding adverbs to verbs (8 verbs which students create 3 adverbs for each to add more detail to it)
  3. Adding adverbs to sentences (where there are 7 sentences with a blank in each for students to create a suitable adverb)
• A plenary (to check and reflect on the students understanding of the topic, and then giving some feedback)

Included in the Word document:

• Concept Corner - Designed to be printed, and cut out to stick into students book at the ‘learning’ part of the lesson presentation
• It is a summarised version of what was on the ‘learning’ PowerPoint slides so students have the explanation and definitions for referance.
