input the value of each letter into the grid and then add the two numbers together for the answer. Copies of the same grid can be used to mulitply or minus the two numbers instead of divide

This resource provides a bit of variation while still getting students to substitute and add (or any other operation) lots of times. Might work well as a competition/race. You could easily edit the values for each of the letters so you can use the resource multiple times with the same class.
