Named after the famous London Bridge over the Thames, this limestone natural bridge also fell down. Use the maps, diagrams and photographs to understand how this London Bridge formed and then work out why it was weathered and eroded and collapsed. This unit is designed so that pages can be screened and discussed in a class situation. The attachments provide flexibility for hard copies to provide opportunity for interpretation. These can be used in class or set as home study. The story of the 2 very lucky visitors indicates that the limestone projections along this coastline are undergoing change. A linked study entitled “The case of the disappearing Apostle” provides additional information on coastal erosion.
