An introduction to Aspects of Tragedy by looking at how the tragic genre has developed through the ages. There are 8 lessons which look at Greek, Shakespearean and Modern tragedy. It also introduces the students to critical theory, so they can start considering this for their independent essays in Year 13. The intention is that they make links through the literature they study in Year 12, so they understated the concept of their independent task and understand the theories well in advance. There is also a lesson on spectacles of analysis and the kinds of things they need to look for when analyzing literary texts.

This is a great resource for introducing students to the Tragedy genre, lots of extra resources included for each lesson, and very easy to make specific to our chosen texts. Im also planning to use the lesson on critical theory as a introduction to their NEAs.
