Asking for permission KS1 PSHE lesson.
A one-hour , detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for summer term Year 1.
In this lesson, the children will learn what it means to ask for permission. We will discuss a range of scenarios where we may be expected to ask permission, and the reasons why asking for permission is so important.
We will read Don’t Touch My Hair by Sharee Miller, before completing a reflection activity linked to the text. The lesson includes a case study starter, a story with accompanying questions, a reflection activity linked to the text, and plenary task.
The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. It is designed to be ‘no prep’, so you can just pick it up and use it, although it is still adaptable should you wish to.

Relationships and Boundaries - Year 1
Family, Love, and Boundaries - Year 1 RSE / PSHE Unit In this Year 1 Relationships unit, we will learn about our bodies, how to recognise and respond to wanted and unwanted touch, and build on our EYFS learning about asking for permission. We will also talk about our families and the people in our lives who love and care for us. This learning builds on our introductory family diversity lesson from Reception, as well as our lessons on naming body parts and understanding personal space. We will revisit these ideas in Year 2, when we learn about our bodies and keeping them safe in more detail. You can find the free scheme of work to accompany this unit here: [Relationships and Boundaries Year 1 Scheme of Work](https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-13397414) Explore the detailed content of each lesson by clicking the links below.
