A collection of practical experiments, ideally suited for primary school students. These can be carried out with both small or large groups. The experiments are excellent either as stand along activities or to link with relevant curriculum areas. They are also well suited for rewards events and other engagement opportunities. Students are set the challenge to design a bridge which crosses a 30 cm gap and supports a car. They must fully budget for materials. Each bridge can be tested in turn and points awarded to identify a winner. This can be delivered as a standalone activity, or linked with construction and engineering. DNA Extraction: Experiment Simple worksheet allowing students to guide themselves through the steps of extracting DNA from kiwi fruit. This is an excellent activity with both younger and older learners. NOTE: It is now a required practical of the GCSE Edexcel science qualification. The worksheet can be printed in A3 and used as a table mat, making cleaning up much easier.
