Free interactive e-book and teacher guide introducing Grade 10–12 learners to coding and robotics, with a ready 50-minute lesson plan and an unplugged activity.

This resource gives you everything you need to introduce coding and robotics to high school learners, even if you’re new to the topic yourself.

The download is a two-page teacher guide that links to Code, Build, Think, a free interactive e-book built in Genially. Learners click through the e-book like a website, on a computer, tablet or smartphone. No account or login is needed.

The teacher guide includes:

Suggested learning goals
A step-by-step 50-minute lesson plan (hook, explore, unplugged activity, discussion and reflection)
A “human robot” activity that needs no devices, ideal for classrooms with limited technology or unreliable power
Discussion questions linking coding and robotics to everyday life and future careers
A three-question exit ticket
Support and extension ideas, including free block-based coding games

It was written by a pre-service teacher in South Africa with real classroom conditions in mind, but it works in any classroom. Free to use for non-commercial teaching. I’d love to hear how you use it, so please leave a review.
