Local community and animals: how to safely co-exist.
This lesson has a PowerPoint with lots of clips to watch and discuss issues such as the dangers of firework dispays, sky lanterns and balloon releases, why you should not feed animals that are not your own, passing horses on the road ‘wide and slow’.
I use this with my Yr 9’s as an introduction to BTEC Animal Care but as a tool to educate the pupils about how to show courtesy when in the countryside/out and about. I come from a farming/equestrian background and it is important that pupils are aware of these issues. Also useful for Duke of Edinburgh students.
Suitable for Yr 7 upwards ( I use it for Yr 9’s).
