Creative / Descriptive Writing: 4 tools for planning, writing, assessing and re-drafting.

Presentation comprises of resources developed for use on any descriptive or creative writing activity / unit of work. I developed these resources as part of an outstanding teaching course I attended and have tried and tested these with students with much success.

The slides contain the following:

a 6x6 board-game /grid for writing / re-drafting a descriptive / creative piece - use with dice (instructions included)
a descriptive writing skills grid for guidance on what should be included in description and can be used as a checklist for assessing work
A series of book marks or could be used as a planning mat, focussing on vocabulary choices to create different moods as appropriate to different settings
A Nando's themed vocabulary up-level grid, showing students how to move through stages in using vocabulary for effect ranging from mild to extra hot.
