Diamond rain

n Earth we are very familiar with rainfall, unless perhaps if you live in a desert. Although rainfall can be frustrating and cause our plans to change, it is vital for life on Earth. However, is all rainfall the same on other planets in the solar system?

Rainfall on Earth involves water, but other planets in the solar system may ‘rain’ other substances. Some planets are made from a mixture of substances, such as the elements: hydrogen, helium, nitrogen and oxygen. In addition, the mixture may contain compounds such as: carbon dioxide, ammonia, methane and perhaps water as well.
