Use this lab resource over two lessons to teach students about chlorophyll and its role in photosynthesis.

During this lab students will do rubbings of leaves, draw and label leaf structures, test the requirements for photosynthesis, use iodine to test for the presence of starch, perform leaf chromatography, use microscopes to observe plant cells and draw field of view diagrams.

Included at the end are a few questions for students to answer to reflect on the practicals they conducted. The last question is for extension and may require research on the student's part.

Included:
4 page student lab worksheet
List of equipment to order
4 page marking recommendations for teachers
