Through using Thinglink (a free online site), students create an interactive version of their text to show their understanding. They can supplement their analysis with a wide variety of media from video to social network posts to audio, to name but a few possibilities.
While the tool is out there for anyone to use, guiding students in using it meaningfully can be a challenge, hence this tried-and-tested resource.
Students LOVE this lesson so much because it makes textual analysis so accessible for all. I've used it in mixed ability classes (including EAL) and always get outstanding results as students can use images, text, videos - basically any linkable media - to express their ideas.
