This lesson moves on to the way in which different materials stretch and touches upon the ideas of plastic and elastic limits.

The lesson itself should mainly revolve around a practical that investigates how two different materials stretch (spring and elastic band) and then has students produce a graph of their results.

Success criteria are provided for students to draw their graphs and data could be provided for students where a practical is not advisable.

The lesson can be followed up with an approved exploring science worksheet for this topic.
