This resource uses two contrasting images of Frankenstein’s monster to develop skills in writing about differences in texts. Learners are more able to identify differences between pictures, but the skills developed can then be transferred to comparing different written texts (this activity is particularly linked to Q2 in the AQA GCSE Paper 2 Language exam although it is aimed at KS3).
Learners first complete a table individually and write about one of the images. They then compare this with a partner - discussing helps develop ideas for future written work. The substitution table provides sentence starters to help them complete paragraphs about different aspects of the illustrations.
