Miriam Hyman was killed in the “7/7” London bombings on 7th July, 2005. In her memory, The Miriam Hyman Memorial Trust collaborated with teachers to create Miriam’s Vision, units of work for use across the Key Stage 3 curriculum. The unique, high quality lesson plans, written by teachers for teachers, contain an editable powerpoint, worksheets (PDF), video links and guidance notes.
The aim is to promote social cohesion in response to the circumstances of Miriam’s death.

The Geography unit contains an introduction to the province of Odisha, where Miriam’s memorial is located. This puts ‘The Mining Conflict In Odisha, India’ into context. The case study involves resolving conflict of interests in the mining industry peacefully and fairly, through the democratic process.

There are 7 sessions:
Sessions 1 & 2 – Introduction to geographical aspects of Odisha
