Do your pupils remember those symmetry exercises they did when you were younger? Why shouldn't those learning about graphs of functions have a go as well? Present them this worksheet as a lesson starter, with no further introduction. Then encourage them to recognise and label each function. Finally, lead discussions about odd and even functions, or the graphs of inverses, including restricting the domain of functions so that they have an inverse. The functions featured are linear, quadratic, cubic, reciprocal, exponential and trigonometric. Suitable for A-level or Advanced Higher.

This looks a good idea.... A little bit of a different approach and less of the 'chalk a talk'.
