Recommended age: 2.5 to 4 years old
Learning goals:
• Make observations, ask and answer questions about animals (simple facts about habitats and life cycles).
• Use one-handed tools and equipment to create a natural scene.

What you need:
• A woodpecker toy
• Some sticks, pinecones and other natural resources
• Photos of woodpeckers in natural habitats
• Green paper/card, glue, a pencil, crayons, scissors
• A colouring sheet
• Play doh
