KS2 Forces and Magnets - SEND Activities

This KS2 Forces and Magnets SEND resource is designed to support pupils working on Year 3 and 5 objectives but accessing learning through SEND, pre-key stage or alternative pathways.

The pack follows a Discover - Try - Explain structure to help pupils build understanding through visual, practical and low language activities, making abstract science concepts more accessible.

Year 3 content includes:

• Movement on different surfaces
• Contact and non-contact forces
• Magnetism and poles

Year 5 content includes:

• Gravity and its effects
• Air and water resistance
• Simple machines (levers and pulleys)

Activities are flexible and not worksheet-dependent. Pages can be cut up, enlarged, used on tuff trays, in small groups or alongside practical exploration.

Pupils can work towards Year 3 or Year 5 outcomes based on learning route rather than age.
