The first part of a four part series using contemporary letters to probe into the different aspects of Medicine in Britian in four different time periods. Frequent pauses with pre-written questions make this a resource that is ready to go for immediate use with no editing required!

These easy-to-read, humourous letters have a dual purpose. They can help your students learn (or revise) the ideas around illness, treatments and prevention methods in the medieval period. They also provide a good resource to improve and encourage literacy - always a helpful bonus!

The multiple letters between a stressed parish priest and his archbishop uncle come from the mid 14th century and cover a wealth of key aspects from the first time period in the Edexcel GCSE course; Medicine in Britain.

There are four different sets of questions sprinkled through the letters allowing you to print this resource and hand it out ready to go. It could be used to introduce a topic, as a homework or as a revision tool. Everything within the letters is self-explanatory.

Look out for upcoming resources (Parts 2, 3 and 4) which the other time periods.
