Full SOW looking at a selection of love poems with a mixed ability group. Used in term 6 so prior understanding of terminology is assumed, but there is a revision task at the beginning of the PP to go back over definitions and examples. Ability range from 3a to 7a in old levels terms. All lessons have differentiated tasks into the poems, exemplar PEE paragraphs, sentence starters and structured peer assessment. Range of interactive activities to encourage students out of their seats and research through 'information stations' around the room. Some creative writing and creative tasks to help understand the poems and look at different types of love. Poems include:

Romance: Sonnet 18 - Shakespeare
Friendship: Love and friendship – Emily Bronte
