Coin recognition and finding totals (three days).

Children revise the values of 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p coins, are introduced to the £1 coin and learn that this can be swapped for ten 10p or a hundred 1p coins. The possible totals when adding three coins are investigated, using number facts and place value to help. They also work out what coins are needed to pay for amounts up to 12p. Children try and find all the ways of making 6p and 7p, beginning to use ordered lists.
