This is a group activity which feeds in to an exam style question. This lesson works straight from the box and includes group activity information sheets, information collection and analysis sheets, writing frames, model answer and peer marking exercise. The lesson conforms to both the TEEP and Build/Share/Practice models and aims to ensure outstanding progress is made through a combination of collaborative learning, presentation and answer construction techniques. There is also a peer marking section at the end which enables pupils to quickly provide each other with non grade related feedback.

The lesson covers Roman, Anglo Saxon, Viking and Norman Settlement in Britain, focusing on language, culture, technology, social impacts as well as the origins of settlers and British place names.
