National Curriculum Levels 1-5 in pupil speak to stick in the front of exercise books (to be coloured in, etc). Very simple and depends upon the interpretation of curriculum levels including opinions. Still, I find it effective!

A good idea, thanks. As you say, open to interpretation and perhaps too simplistic but will work for this purpose and should please ofsted!
