Three numeracy worksheets with accompanying three-part lesson plans in this free 10-page sample from Numeracy for the Less Able, for KS3 students developing basic numeracy skills.

Addition and Subtraction practise number facts to 10. Their plans include starters, main activities and plenaries, using classroom materials such as digit cards, a 100 square, dice and counters. Add or Subtract? practises choosing the appropriate operation; its starter requires addition cards from Appendix 1, which is not included in this sample.

The sample also includes the title, introduction, contents and general guidelines. The full pack’s appendices and answer pages are not included in this extract.

The full 73-page pack contains 28 worksheets with lesson plans, seven supporting appendices and answer pages, progressing through mental and written calculation, problem-solving, checking answers and calculator use.

The preview images illustrate the full pack and include pages beyond the sample. This is the original 2001 publication with historical Framework, Strategy and level references; no current curriculum alignment is claimed.
