Phase 2 Phonics Board Game – Reading, Caption Matching and Colourful Semantics

A fun, interactive and differentiated board game designed to develop Phase 2 phonics, reading, sentence building, counting and turn-taking skills. Ideal for SEND, EYFS, KS1 and pupils working at early reading levels.

Players roll a dice, move around the colourful board and complete a literacy challenge when they land on a star.

The resource includes three differentiated levels:

Level 1: 24 Phase 2 decodable word cards to practise sounding out and blending.

Level 2: 24 short phonics captions with 24 matching picture cards to develop reading and comprehension.

Level 3: 16 illustrated action cards with a Colourful Semantics ALD board to support sentence building using Who, What doing and What.

The game supports phonics, communication, sentence construction, counting, turn-taking, attention and social interaction.

Suitable for 1–4 players, with the option to use 1–4 counters each. Different ability levels can play together using the same board.

Simply print, laminate and add a dice or spinner and counters.
