Take a mathematical problem solving journey (with a creative twist) through the stone, bronze and iron ages, through ancient Greece and China right up to the computer age in our quest to understand pi.
There is a presentation taking the pupils through the history of pi and introducing the tasks with video, animation and demonstrations.
6 Activities are included with the session which can last from an hour to a full afternoon and are designed to be accessed by mixed ability key stage 3 groups.
Pupils will use skills such as representing and discussing statistics, written calculation methods, problem solving, creativity and memorisation techniques. There are some dingbats to finish up. Enjoy!
