A ratio activity linking ratios and fractions utilising diagrams to promote understanding of the links between topics using a diagram approach for students to visualise the concept. Students have to decide which of the four statements or diagrams is the odd one out and explain why. Odd one out is a 'Narrowing the Gap' activity targetting boys engagement but is equally effective with girls.

Excellent for discussion and checking understanding of equivalent representations of ratio / proportion etc. Will be using as a short series of starters (two per lesson perhaps?)
