Reading the Terrain teaches students to identify six logical structures that appear repeatedly in academic English passages — CLIFF, FORK, BRIDGE, SIGNPOST, RIDGE LINE, and MARKER. Instead of reading line by line, students learn to spot signal words and locate the key point immediately.

Each terrain is introduced with its logic, signal words, and a worked example, followed by a Step 1 recognition drill and Step 2 timed practice. Part 2 mixes all six terrains across 30 questions for exam-ready training.

Suitable for TOEFL, SAT, IELTS, and AP English. 60 passages, 90 questions total.
