This free resource consists of three Power Point slides that include a marking code for you and your team when marking GCSE, AS and A2 books as well as mocks.
We have trailed this in my Department and it has significantly reduced our mark load whilst putting the onus on students to respond to teacher comments and redraft content. Previously we used a grade, WWW, EBI and general punctuation and grammar marking structure, which was both lengthy and often not taken on board by students.
The slide is easily adaptable and can be changed to the needs or EBI’s of your students and ensures that students both act on and address their weaknesses head-on. For example:
All H/W is marked in purple pen with all essay’s/mocks marked in red pen. Students respond in green. Adapt to your marking policy.
