A three-tier restorative reflection system for Grades 6-8: independent reflection, peer mediation, and a formal re-entry and action plan, aligned to the IB Learner Profile.

These restorative reflection forms give Grades 6-8 teachers a structured, three-tier system for responding to behaviour incidents using restorative practice. Built on Wachtel’s five restorative questions and aligned to the IB Learner Profile, the resource is pitched for the developmental stage of middle school: open response throughout, no sentence starters, and a formal action-planning component that holds students to specific, time-bound commitments.

The tiered design means you reach for the right tool for the moment: a quick independent reflection for a minor incident, a structured peer mediation for a conflict, or a full re-entry and action plan after a serious incident. Middle-school students write in their own voice rather than from prompts.

The resource works in any school using PBIS, restorative justice, trauma-informed practice, or social-emotional learning, and it maps cleanly to the IB MYP Learner Profile and ATL skills. It is also aligned to CASEL’s social-emotional competencies.
