Lesson designed for year 2/3 children. Practical lesson around bubbles. PowerPoint presentation with facts and explanations. Children to investigate blowing bubbles with different bubble wand designs (Big, small, round, shaped etc.) Children to write predictions on what they think will happen on a worksheet. Children go outside and investigate in groups of 2 or 3 the different types of bubble wands. Children then record their findings (What wand created the biggest bubble? Which wand created the longest floating bubble? Were the bubbles different shapes?). Children to give reasons behind why they think this is the case using the PowerPoint for guidance. Children then design their own bubble wand using their findings from the lesson. This is designed over a 2 lesson period. Following in from this for another lesson, children could then make their wand designs and investigate/test them.
