A fun worksheet to help children work through their thoughts and feelings on moving from Year 6 to Year 7 – from Primary to Secondary School

This one-page report-style worksheet asks children to answer fun questions about their school day and encourages them to see the school day as a fun challenge to approach, rather than as something overwhelming.

Especially useful for children struggling with the transition - it will help them to put things into perspective and to look at things in a more light-hearted way.

At the end of the activity there is an opportunity for the child to set themselves a simple goal/target for the next day - helping them to make small steps to feeling more and more comfortable at school.

I’d also suggest the child looks over the worksheet before school so that they can be thinking about the questions as they go through the day - it gives them something to focus on and work towards, if everything seems a little overwhelming!

Optimised for and created with Microsoft Word (rather than Google Docs.)

mental health awareness
