The Self‑Discovery Toolkit is a flexible collection of printable worksheets designed to support emotional wellbeing, self‑awareness and behaviour reflection in secondary and post‑16 learners.

The resources use clear, structured layouts and visual supports, making them particularly suitable for SEN, SEMH and neurodivergent‑friendly students, as well as anxious or highly sensitive young people.

Worksheets can be used individually, as part of an intervention programme, or alongside counselling/mentoring. They are not dated, so you can pick and choose the most relevant tool for each lesson, session or student.

Emotional check‑ins and an emotion wheel
Identifying triggers and response patterns

Low‑ink version – mainly white background and minimal colour blocks, ideal for school photocopiers
Supplied in A4 PDF format. (Can also be printed on US Letter if required.)

How to Use
The toolkit is deliberately non‑linear. You can:

Use single worksheets in 1:1 mentoring, ELSA, counselling or coaching sessions
Build short programmes for SEMH / wellbeing interventions
Select pages for PSHE / tutor time work on emotional awareness, self‑esteem or behaviour reflection
Offer choice: allow students to select which page feels most relevant to them that day
Re‑use favourites as needed – ideal for learners who benefit from repeating familiar formats
Each worksheet includes simple, student‑friendly prompts so pupils can work with minimal writing demands and clear expectations.

Why It’s SEN‑Friendly
Clear, uncluttered layouts – no dense blocks of text
Short, scaffolded sentences and examples
Visual supports (icons, diagrams, emotion wheel)
Consistent pastel palette – soft on the eyes, low visual overload
Plenty of white space to reduce anxiety and cognitive load
Separate low‑ink version to keep copying affordable
Suitable for students with SEND, SEMH needs, anxiety, ADHD, ASC / autistic profiles and other learners who benefit from structure and predictability.

Age / Phase
Best suited for KS3–KS4 and Post‑16
Can be adapted for mature KS2 pupils working at this emotional level
Appropriate for use with college students and young adults as well
