Activities move from introductory imagery through scene-by-scene exploration to an overview of characters and themes. Students analyse plot, language, ambition, conscience, good and evil, witchcraft and kingship through discussion, performance, newspaper writing, a mock trial and other creative responses.

Notes include aims, learning objectives, preparation, classroom organisation, differentiation and extensions where relevant. Appendices provide an Elizabethan stage diagram, quotation cards, Act I Scene I, quotation and reference lists, and a storyboard grid.
