Personal Interactions is part of the Social Skills series. This series takes a somewhat light-hearted approach to presenting important information on topics that will help students navigate the challenges of personal interactions whether it be in person or online. The series was created to appeal especially to teens with playful cartoon characters that students can relate to. Students are provided practical tools – in the form of advice and suggestions – to successfully deal with with everyday issues and situations. Each book has an “expert” character that shares their wisdom throughout each story as well as several teen characters that receive special “Teen Tips,” via text, at the end of each story.

Understanding and mastering a specific set of skills leads to effective personal interactions. Through a series of real-life scenarios, students learn how to: make friends, deal with having a crush, stand up for themselves and others, understand the power of nonverbal communication, accept and appreciate people who don’t dress or act like they do, plus much more.
