A worksheet taking students through the parallax method of finding the distance to stars using SOHCAHTOA trigonometry and then an additional task on using similar triangles to find the diameter of the Sun. Suitable for Y9 classes onwards. The idea inspired by the nice resource from Greenwich Observatory: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/measuring-the-universe-ks4-11198074 - from which I used a couple of pictures. Check out this resource as well for some more ideas.

A great worksheet for extension especially (some might struggle with all the additional information/calculations) once you're ending or revising a topic that also requires problem solving. I love a bit of physics/astronomy which can be done using simple maths!
