This 90-minute teacher-led lesson is designed as a realistic GCSE Astronomy mock-exam experience. Learners complete a 60-minute, 50-mark timed paper covering core knowledge, calculations, observational methods and extended responses, followed by 30 minutes of structured self- or peer-marking, feedback and gap analysis. Teachers should establish clear exam conditions, issue the separate formula and data sheet, monitor pacing without coaching, and use the mark scheme to model how command words, working, units and scientific vocabulary earn credit. Outcomes should be used diagnostically to identify individual and whole-class priorities for the next lesson on exam technique.
