This 90-minute lesson develops the practical data-handling skills required for GCSE Astronomy. Learners progress from reading tables and plotting accurate graphs to interpreting correlations, gradients and anomalies using authentic astronomical contexts. Model each stage explicitly, check axis choices and scales before plotting, and use questioning to help learners justify conclusions from evidence rather than expectation. The activities can be completed individually or in pairs, with scaffolded graph templates and worked examples available where needed.
