Macbeth GCSE Exam Question Pack (AQA English Literature 8702)

A pack of six sample GCSE English Literature Paper 1, Section A assessments on Macbeth, in the style of the AQA paper. Each text gives key information on the extract, the extract itself (with line numbers), and a task relating to the presentation of a character/theme and the relevant bullet points instructing students to respond to the extract and whole play. Useful for exam practice and/or recapping key scenes. New specification (8702).

Pre-exam Revision Mats for AQA English Language Paper 1 and 2 (GCSE 8700)

Two PowerPoint slides (one for Paper 1, one for Paper 2) which we printed as revision ‘mats’ in A3 and placed around rooms where students congregated before the exams. It gives them final reminders on how to approach each question, and can be easily tailored to suit your own teaching - e.g. changing timings or including your own approaches to certain questions. These could also be used as revision sheets, posters or reminders to be used with mock exams.

Three pages to be used to support students with literacy and structuring answers for English Literature and Language Exams as well as general SPAG. A couple of images have moved during the preview but hopefully won’t be an issue when downloaded.

Reminder of how to analyse poetry - mood and atmosphere, ideas, language (features), effect, and structure. Looks great on A3 colour and laminated.

Homework - Differentiation

A blank slide to create differentiated homework tasks. The students can unlock 'levels' by completing homework tasks and could choose a Mario character or create one of their own to create some competition.

AQA English Language Paper 2, Reading Section Overview

This resource would be best enlarged onto A3 and could be used during teaching this paper, before an assessment or after a marked piece of work in order for students to make improvements. This focuses solely on the reading section of Language Paper 2 and uses ‘One’s Company’ and ‘Records of a Girlhood’ (2023 exam) as its focus. It is three pages in length. The sections could be potentially highlighted by students or folded to look less overwhelming and to seem more like a bookmark style tool. This is a grid which includes the key things to remember about the reading section emphasis on the importance of the context box at the top of the extract what each question looks like (based on ‘One’s Company’ and ‘Records of a Girlhood’ (2023 exam) questions they should ask themselves for each question to help reading for meaning how to plan (or what I tell mine to do) what should be included to gain specific levels with a short example sentence openers a rough breakdown of marks for grade boundaries the mark scheme with bracketed simplification of some words for students to understand

2024 AQA Power & Conflict: Predicted Exams

After discounting all named poems used in AQA’s sample and past papers, and considering question styles used by AQA, I came up with a range of potential named poem choices and questions AQA could use this summer. This resource consists of a set of exam papers based on those poems, each with three potential exam questions, in the style of the AQA GCSE English Literature exam. Please note: these are purely predictions and I have no advance knowledge of the content of the exam this resource comprises of assessment questions, not teaching resources the questions can easily be edited to include your own task.

After considering all extracts and questions used in AQA’s sample and past papers, and considering the length of extract and question styles used by AQA, I came up with ten possible exam tasks AQA could use this summer on ‘An Inspector Calls’. Each task consists of a pair of questions in the style of the exam, so there are twenty tasks in total. The resource also includes all past exam questions on An Inspector Calls. Please note that these are purely predictions and I have no advance knowledge of the content of the exam!
