1 hour, fully resourced lesson which provides an overview and introduction to Mormonism , The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as an alternative religious movement. It compares the validity of Mormon beliefs to non-Mormon Christian ones and investigates the story of Joseph Smith, the founder. It examines Mormonism today and criticisms as well as the Church in the words of believers. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. It is useful for RE or History, or could be used as a standalone lesson as something different for a drop-down-day. As with all our lessons, you don’t need any prior knowledge as all the information is included - you can just pick up and teach it. This was used for GCSE RS Thematic Studies AQA (9-1) Theme A (but is editable for other exam boards or KS3). It is fully adaptable and includes essay preparation, quote analysis tasks, a variety of activities, a 12 mark practice question, clips and questions and is fully differentiated (to three levels throughout). It also includes a Christian viewpoints sheet to help with the religious comparisons mock exam question. This pack includes a PowerPoint, worksheets, clips, all well differentiated. This is the first of 12 sessions which will cover all aspects of employability skills, as well as serve as a step-by-step guide for schools and students that are signed up to the LikeToBe website. This first session is an introduction to what the different employability skills are and contains the audit sheet that is needed for the rest of the course. All of these resources are three way differentiated, engaging and challenging. They are best suited to KS4 or KS5 students and each lasts 40 minutes.
