Languages Christmas Advent Decoration This languages advent Christmas decoration provides 30 fun and colourful hanging decorations in 24 different languages. The template enables pupils to create their own hanging decoration, which provides a flag, the country name and the message “Merry Christmas” in the language of that country. The decorations can be made with card or wood, and instructions are provided, along with photos of the decorations on a Christmas tree. This activity is designed to celebrate the diversity of world languages. It can also be used to generate discussion and observation of world flags and language scripts. It offers a great “MFL Day” activity, as well as a Christmas MFL quiz. Pupils can be challenged to identify the country by the flag and language. The answer is revealed on the reverse side of the decoration. Pupils can create this decoration with either firm card or small, thin blocks of wood. This set of French pets activity sheets enables pupils to embed their learning of pet vocabulary and develop simple sentences to talk about what pets they have. They are suitable for KS2 and KS3 beginner French from age 7 to 12. The activity sheets come with support sheets, to enable lower ability pupils to access the activities, and they also provide enough differentiation for each task, to challenge more able pupils. Activity sheet 1 enables pupils to identify the pet names in French and write a simple answer to the question “Qu’est-ce que c’est?” (What is it?). This reinforces the use of “un” and “une” for French masculine and feminine nouns. Two spelling lists are provided for support, one with the pictures and one without, to differentiate learning. Activity sheet 2 enables pupils to write simple sentences about what pets they have, using the examples for practice and then providing their own answers. A support sheet is provided. Activity sheet 3 models how to introduce yourself and describe your pets. There are two versions to cater for different abilities. Pupils write a simple paragraph about themselves and their pets. These French pets playing cards are a simple and fun way to help pupils embed their learning of pet vocabulary. Suitable for pupils aged 5 to 12 and SEN and EAL pupils. **Spanish Easter Egg Hunt in the Park: ** This special edition Spanish Easter resource is more than just an Easter Egg hunt. It allows students to learn lots of vocabulary to do with the park and to use 3 prepositions “in, on, under” to identify where the Easter eggs are hidden in the park. This resource is interactive and allows the teacher to teach and assess how well students have learned the vocabulary and language structures. The first powerpoint presents “The Park” vocabulary consisting of 24 items. These are split into groups of 8 and include 8 plurals, colour coded in blue and red to enable students to identify masculine, feminine, singular and plural nouns. Each set of 8 has an interactive summary slide to assess the students vocabulary development. Each item of vocabulary has a sound file attached, which will support non-specialist language teachers as well as pupils. Each set of 8 vocabulary slides has an accompanying activity sheet for students to identify and write the vocabulary under the correct pictures. A park pairs game is also provided, allowing students to cut up and play this classic vocabulary memory game with their classmates. An audio vocabulary sheet is an additional feature for this special edition, that enables students to develop independent learning either in school or at home, using a QR code reader (freely downloadable from an app store) to scan and listen to the vocabulary learned in the presentation.
